Outdoor Play

Outside, a world of adventure awaits with activities for all ages. Enjoy tractor rides (weather and availability permitting), explore woodland walks, bounce on giant cushions, conquer climbing frames, or even try tractor driving around our miniature farm.

Our retired combine harvester, once used to harvest corn on the farm, has been transformed into an exciting slide for endless fun.

For an extra thrill, whiz down the Cresta slide or race around on our super-speedy pedal karts—perfect for little speedsters!

Fresh Air Fun

Ernespie may be a working farm, but there’s always time for fun.

Our Outdoor Play area is a magical spot for kids, open from April to October, where adventure awaits around every corner.

There’s plenty to keep them busy—pedal karts, giant bouncy pillows (one for toddlers, one for bigger kids—and yes, grownups are welcome too!), a Cresta slide, woodland walks, and a retired combine harvester that now lives its best life as a climbing frame and slide.

Still got energy? There’s more. A zip wire, sandpit with buckets, spades, a digger, and another little slide to explore.

But here’s the challenge: can you find the secret play frame hidden in the woods, or will you give up and head straight for the café?

Combine Shed

At Ernespie Farm, we care about sustainability—which why we turned an old combine harvester into a climbing frame and slide.

The other reason? It’s seriously good fun!

Kids love putting grandparents and family at the wheel while they clamber around him—and the braver adults have even been known to squeeze down the slide!

Fun facts:

  • The combine harvester is a machine that efficiently harvests grain crops by combining three tasks: reaping, threshing, and winnowing.
  • We use our combine to harvest wheat, oats, and barley.
  • After harvesting, the leftover straw—made up of stalks and leaves—is either chopped, spread, ploughed in, or baled. At Ernespie, we bale our straw for animal bedding.
